The Gene & Martha Jackson Royston Turquoise Belt Buckle. This wonderful Bet Buckle was made by the famous Navajo smith couple Gene and Martha Jackson. Gene was born on 10/30/32 of the Tower House Clan near Chinle.
He is the brother of Dan Jackson and Tommy Jackson's father. He learned his craft from Kenneth Begay, and for a time worked out of Indian Arts & Crafts. I do not know much about Martha, except that she graduated from the University of Arizona here in Tucson where I live and where I went to an oboe concert today... Their work can be found in countless museums and galleries. It can also be found in the major Native Jewelry catalogs and reference books. A few are listed below. This is stamp signed with the hallmark "JACKSON" inside of a Navajo Hogan. It is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. There are no serious defects, and what looks like a natural stone. The Belt Buckle is in great condition and may have been used very little. I just took your suggestion and gave it the Tap Test. It does not have the sound of a break and the sound as I tap around the turquoise is uniform in tone. It is also tight in its bezel.So, If you'd like a closer look, it is risk free. That is as it should be!
